Shutter and Window

Johnny made these shutters look older by distressing the ends of the cypress boards and the battens. We accented the cypress battens by adding carriage bolts which we painted black. Again, pumpkin yellow was used to stain the shutter. The country window shades in the bedroom window were made from ticking cloth with a lining only for the scalloped bottom edge. Look for the 'old-timey' crocheted shade pulls in your drapery shops.
